You may remember Will Smith’s movie The Pursuit of Happyness, well I had Christopher Gardner on my flight from LAX to Houston last week. (He was who the movie portrayed) He pre-boarded the aircraft, and was quite the charmer while we were waiting to board the rest of the aircraft. One of the other Flight Attendants asked him who he was and I piped in to tell him I saw him on Oprah. Well, then it all started. Apparently he and Oprah have some things in common, like where they grew up, and went to school etc. Anyway, he then said to all of us and I quote “Don’t be surprised if you hear an announcement from Oprah sometime soon.” Of course curious minds have to know……whaaaaaaat???? One FA asked if she was going to run for president? Nooooo, he said “Oprah needs to get married” So I said to who Stedman? Well, this seemed to irritate him. Now confused I said who Dr. Oz? (They are quite flirty on the show) Ok, now I pissed him off, I start to understand and ask, YOU? He was mad that he was my third guess. Ummmm, I hadn’t heard they were an item. According to Mr. Gardner, “You never know, just remember I told you that, and don’t be surprised if you hear an announcement.”
OK.

Much to Mr. Gardner’s dismay, I was serving him in FC that evening. We ended up having a good rapport, and he was warm and friendly throughout the service. When the service was coming to an end I cleared his tray and asked if he would care for coffee or tea? His response…..”I WANT YOU.” Well, how nice to know someone who wants to marry Oprah can have an interest in little old me…..or was he just being witty, you know the old saying “Coffee, tea, or me???????
