I was in Seattle yesterday (working) with my great friend Janice. Janice and I met on our flight to Flight Attendant training fifteen years ago and became roommates and fast friends. She is the cutest person I know. The title of this post is what we spent a good part of our day in search of. Janice was on a mission, and when Janice is on a mission watch out! We needed to find the perfect bouquet of flowers for her florist at home, not too difficult a task in Seattle but the challenge was that Janice wanted a bucket to carry her flowers home in and if you know Janice you know she doesn’t take no for an answer. Sooooo, after a fabulous lunch of fish and chips and beer for me, wine and Halibut for Janice, we headed on our mission.
We started at the entrance of Pikes Market and worked our way down.I occupied myself taking pictures of all the beautiful tulips along the way. Janice would say, “I NEED a bucket” at each stand before she picked out any flowers…. there would be no deal without a bucket. After about the ninth turn down, the deal was made, Janice picked out two gorgeous bouquets and it seemed she would get her bucket. Turns out the saleswomen did not understand, and again no bucket. The sales lady directed us across the street and said the cookie shop would offer us a bucket. We finally had flowers. Kind of funny though, the lady at the cookie shop was perplexed and chuckled that the flower woman would say that but went out back and got Janice her bucket. (Janice bought a cookie) Well, after all that, the flowers were to big for the bucket. We left without a bucket!
This called for wine. Now we’re talking. We stopped and bought a couple of bottles and headed back. The hotel has a cozy sitting area in the lobby with a fireplace. This was the perfect ending to walking around in the cold drizzle. The rest of our crew hung out with us and we talked about where we are from and the other woman we were flying with was having boyfriend trouble so she was able to get themale perspective from our First Officer. We had a great time winding down before bed.
