Especially if you are a FA and your daughter is one. Honey and Lucy came to work with me to enjoy a night at The Park Plaza and leave the 100 degree temps behind for a beautiful day in Boston. It was a gorgeous day and we did have a great time, however things did not start out that way!
First mistake, we forgot our cooler which had all of Lucy’s bottles, snacks and sippy cups! This should have been a sign but we trudged forward. (Did you know you cannot find/buy any baby supplies at the airport? Not at any US airport that I know of!) Well, as soon as we closed the airplane door we were informed of a thirty minute weather delay……oh crap! Then it started Lucy, who was in her car seat in the last row, started SCREAMING!! This pretty much went on the whole flight. She wanted me, any other time Daddy works but of course not now. My crew and passengers were extremely kind….at least to my face. I actually held Lucy while setting up the bar cart. (It’s good to have a job where your not supervised.) Oh, and did I mention one of my old FA room mates was on the flight with her two kids. She tried to help and said if she had a uniform with her she would have worked for me…it was that bad. She was just grateful it wasn’t her kids. She was also kind enough to let me know that I will forever be known as the FA who brought her kid to work….thanks Julie!
When we got to Boston, things went up hill. It was a beautiful night and we found a 24 hr. CVS. Now equipped with a bottle and a sippy cup life was good. The Celtics just one the championship and we enjoyed some dinner and a beer at the Hotel lounge…good parents, I know….it was now midnight! The hotel set up a crib in our room and we all slept soundly. I don’t think Honey will be bringing Lucy on any layovers for a few years!
The top picture is what Lucy looked like when she woke up at the hotel the next morning, I’m pretty sure we all looked about the same!
