THE LAST FRONTIER AND GREAT FISH AND CHIPS

By The Flying Pinto

Anchorage Alaska is where I was. Here is a picture from my hotel room at 9:00pm! The sun is setting around 10:30pm this time of year. I had a great trip…first I slept for about 9 hours straight and enjoyed every moment.

Anchorage is a small city but great for walking around. I spent a lot of my time at the open air market they have on weekends in the summer and ended up at F Street Station my favorite little pub for fish and chips…something I usually get when in Anchorage, Seattle, or Vancouver. I only regret that I didn’t rent a bike with my Captain and FO, they biked for about 20 miles and came across a moose, they said she was about 10 ft. from them! I would have loved to have seen that. You can rent a bike for the day, and it’s only $15.

Anchorage also has a fabulous zoo comprised of rescued wild life. They rehabilitate, or keep them if they can’t return to the wild. They even have a raccoon named Max who was illegally brought up from TX as a pet. They found him wandering down the street alone with a dog harness on!

Check out “A few of my pics” to see more of my Anchorage pictures.
