Texas, and my life is a bit crazy right now. I haven’t been flying much and we’re busy putting our house back together and since this is a blog about being a Flight Attendant and not a home improvement blog, I’ve decided to take a brief hiatus. My plate is just too full right now and I keep stressing over not updating.
Hmmmm, maybe you can help. We are at a cross road, a really big crossroad.Huge! We live in Texas away from all of our family and always talk about moving “home” to Massachusetts. We have been here six years and before Lucy it wasn’t as big a deal. Our dilemma is this….we both have jobs here….I would obviously keep mine if we moved, but I would have to commute to NY. We own our house here, it’s VERY affordable here, we have great friends, and the freedom to travel because of the affordability and proximity to the airport. Life is easy here.
Now, moving back to MA we would have family and it’s beautiful there….but what about those house prices? The pic in this post is of a house for sale on the ocean….is that too much to ask for? I’m asking! Travel? Well, I would still travel….probably to Europe every week, that sounds good….it would make for a more interesting blog: ) …..but would Lucy get to travel as much if all of our income is going to our mortgage?
Would love to hear your thoughts!
soooooooo, please, please be patient and subscribe to my blog….there is a little square in the address bar on the right…..so you know when I return.
Go with your Gut, not your heart or your mind!
Good Luck, course if it were up to me I would say: “Come Home!!”
There is a HUGE benefit to having children grow up near their extended family….Which is why my family is trying to get me to move back near them…..
Tax-achusetts? Are you crazy!! Stay where you are and enjoy your good quality of life. With cell phones, email, digital camera, skype, instant messaging etc…you can be miles apart and still be connected with family & friends. And the travel is a wonderful job perk, for all of you.
Warmest regards~
Good luck with such a big decision! I would agree to follow your gut. It’s nice to have family around but quality of life is a big factor as well. I got both when I switched bases from JFK to CVG. New York is more exciting but I can always fly up on days off.
Warning…this is not an unbiased opinion!
Come home!!!! We miss you guys, and Cullen would love to have another cousin to play with!
love,
your cousin Elizabeth
Hey Kids…Stay where you are!! You and Kevin have great jobs. There is a lot to think about…Do you want to spend WINTERS in MA? Can you imagine heating a house with the price of gas, winter clothes, shoveling snow, snow tires for your car…you’ve got it made! You’re not that far away from family. Kevin, do you remember visiting Cousin Conni and Auntie Paulette in Arizona? Your cousin, Jennifer is in Dallas, Ft. Worth area with twins.
Good luck with your decision, I know you’ll make the right decision together for your little family.
Love ya…
Auntie Paulette
Ah I know these questions and I have never known the answers until I find myself doing what I am supposed to be doing (have I lost you yet?)
Hi FP!
My line of trade you deal with the unknown everyday. That’s what keeps people away. We all want to know the future so that we can prepare and do the right thing and while we plan life grabs us by the ankles and hurls us across the room.
If you want to be near family (the reason for being) GO! Mom is right, follow your gut/heart. If it is a right idea you will see the pieces fall into line,(I know you’ve seen this before) Don’t let fear guide you and be not afraid to take a step.
Remember when you left home and all was up in the air? You didn’t fall then so why would you fall now while taking yet another step. If anything FP you’ll be better at everything that comes your way this time around because you have more time under your belt on the planet.
Keep moving forward!
Break-a-Leg kiddo!!:)
