I have a 1925 house so one of my phones is from 1938. I love the beauty of it.
My daughter brings home a friend one day after school, her friend asks if she could use the phone and I tell her of course and point to the 1938 phone.
There is a long pause as she stares at the side table looking for the phone and then I realize she hasn’t scene a phone like that one let alone how to work it. I take the phone off the cradle and show her how to take one finger, place it on the number that you want and drag your finger until the little metal hook won’t allow you to rotate the dial anymore and then you let go and dial the next number. She looks at me like I’m from outer space and says “You mean I have to remember each number I’ve dialed?” I tell her yes, you have to remember each number you have dialed.

This is the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time! Love this guy.
