Dear FP,
In regards to your article, Flying with Dummies:
I think all crying babies should be sedated and fly in cargo hold.
This would allow the parents to save on airfare and enjoy a few cocktails.
Then, if turbulence occurred they would be relaxed and not frightened by this event.
P.S. Babies should be packed in tempurpedic foam for their protection.

Dear Concerned Passenger,
Assuming this letter is meant to be funny…(I hope, since I was laughing hysterically)…..and I don’t need to turn you in to social services, here is my response to you:
It sounds like you have had a few bad experiences sitting next to crying babies? Sedating the babies is probably not a good idea but you are welcome to take a Benadryl , use your eye mask and ear plugs and you’ll most likely sleep through all the ruckus. Cargo is not a great way to save on airfare, it is actually expensive. The reason some of our routes make money is due to cargo, not passenger load!
I have to disagree with the tempurpedic…..especially since it’s Earth Day…this is a very toxic, not environmentally friendly product. But, I’m open to more suggestions.
You could also choose to fly on an all “adult airline”…..but I can’t promise that you won’t be screaming once the plane takes off: )
That guy reminds me of my EX husband…weird sense of humour…as for the “adult airline”…Yikes don’t those people have mirrors in their houses…ps..how about the crew, were they “adult” too?
Hehehehe, I used to think the same way about crying babies when I was younger… But seriously, it is interesting how different people are bothered by different things.
I don’t mind crying babies in the airplane anymore. I don’t mind barking dogs in my neighbor’s houses (this bothers a lot my fiance). But when a passanger is listening to music or watching a movie with headphones and the sound is just too loud that you can hear even a tiny little bit, that really bothers me.
Yeah, what about the pilots and the FAs in the adult airline???? I guess the airline will spend a lot of money cleaning up the seats. Or maybe not …
It’s funny how people change. I didn’t care for babies much when I was young. Then I got older and closer to the end of my life. Now babies, even screaming ones, are treasures. Yeah, they leak from every opening. They can make a lot of noise. But it’s new life! That’s got to be worth some putting-up-with. If the baby is annoying, give the parents a genuine and warm smile. They know that a crying baby is annoying, but it’s not like the baby has an “off” switch, or they’d have used it already.
me too…then I had my Lucy….now all I want to do is hold and comfort any baby crying: ) Ear plugs are cheap and work great for anyone who can’t handle it. I agree with you Albert, I’m a lot less tolerant of adults who should know how to be considerate of others and are not…how about those “loud” cell phone talkers?
