My name is Teresa. I am an Industrial Design Student at Rhode Island School of Design. I am working on a design project to help improve a flight attendant’s flight experience. But, in order to do that, I need to find out what your needs and challenges are. Do you think you would be interested in helping me with this project?

Yes! I would love to help you with this project. First of all I love RISD and to get my own designer to make my job easier? Sounds great! How do we get started?

Sara,

The Objective of this project is to choose a user group that we are interested in learning about and from the research process, we have to come up with a design solution to solve their problems during flight experience. At this stage, I am not sure what type of design I would be looking for.  This could be either a product design, service design, or system design. The decision would be made from our interviews and research.

By the end of the semester, which I will show you my design solution either in person or through video and you will have to tell me if it is good design or not. It will be better if I can perhaps meet you in person by the end of the semester for you to test out the design prototype.

So, what do you think? Pretty cool huh? If you are also a flight attendant what types of improvements would you ask for? I never really thought of making our job easier through a design aspect, but now all kinds of ideas are going through my head! Maybe when she has completed the project she could pass her ideas and designs over to Boeing and Airbus!
